Commonplace x Zencity: FAQs
Questions about the merging of Commonplace and Zencity platforms.
As we put the finishing touches to the single unified platform, combining the best of Commonplace and Zencity, we have complied a list of handy FAQs.
When will the transition happen?
Your transition to the new platform is expected during Summer 2026. It will take time to transition all of your data. Until the transition is completed, you'll continue to find Commonplaces live at URLs you've previously visited, for example: https://<name of council>.commonplace.is. After the transition, you'll be redirected to a Zencity URL such as https://engage.zencity.io/<name of council>.
Where can I find the submissions I previously made on Commonplace?
During the transition you'll be able to view your previous submissions at https://profile.commonplace.is
Once the transition has completed, you'll be redirected to
https://engage.zencity.io/<name of council>/en-US/profile
What data will be transitioned?
Everything. Our plan is to transition all of your historical submissions to previous Commonplaces. As part of our regular processes and for GDPR compliance, we anonymyse data on Commonplaces that have been closed. There is no change to the existing approach, but this may explain why you cannot find historical submissions from a few years ago.
What changes are there to terms and conditions or personal data?
As part of the transition, we have published a new set of website terms and a revised privacy policy. These have been revised to cover our global user base and benefit from the same levels of privacy and data protection as you have become used to experiencing on Commonplace. We remain compliant with UK GDPR and the Data Use and Access Act 2025. Commonplace Digital Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioners Office.
